Safety button is a mobile app for the iPhone that allows the user to quickly send a predefined email and/or a predefined text message and/or then dial a predefined number. The user can setup an email message including the To, Cc, subject and email body and save it to be sent when the Safety button is pressed. Similarly for the text message and phone number. The user can also select to have their current location (if available) sent with the email and/or text message when the safety button is pressed. The user can also indicate which of the saved communication methods should be used when the Safety button is pressed. The iPhone (out of the box) does not allow background sending of email or text message; it requires user interaction. That means that when the Safety button is pressed it starts a process where the predefined messages to be used are shown to the user with a send button that must be clicked. The user may also be asked for permission to use their current location if that option has been selected. If the user has also opted to make a phone call, the Safety button app switches to the Phone app and dials the saved number as its last action. Why 'Safety button'? Because one use for this app could be to try to quickly communicate that the sender is safe (or not), depending on the message saved in the settings. Note: this version of Safety Button displays iAds.
